The story of Missionary Aviation Repair Center really began before 1964. . . In 1945, Roald and Harriett Amundsen began serving with the Evangelical Covenant Mission in Nome, Alaska as pastor, administrator and missionary pilot. Early on Roald saw the need for consistent maintenance for the safety of the numerous mission aircraft used across Alaska. God instilled in the Amundsen's hearts the vision to begin MARC as an organized aviation maintenance facility for Alaskan missions. They chose to locate at the Soldotna airport, beginning with a small hangar. Within a year, God provided a Cessna 180 and led them to also provide safe an efficient, economical transportation for missionaries who did not have their own aircraft. From these small beginnings we have continued to expand in staff, facilities, aircraft. We now have now have a staff of eight families, an hangar with office space for maintenance an new HANGAR TO KEEP OUR AIRPLANES IN.and three twin engine Piper Navajo which have eight seats, the aircraft are used exclusively for mission work.
